I hadn't used tip-ups in many years but the JackTraps looked so nice and well designed I purchased the standard about the middle of last season. I only had the opportunity to use it once last year because of the lack of ice. I've used it several times so far this season and I think it's the best tip-up on the market.

When the temperature is 25 below zero, and the wind blowing bitterly, you hate to leave the warmth of the shack to chase wind flags. Master Maine craftsman, Tim Jackson has designed and constructed the highest quality traps available. Chasing wind flags is a thing of the past since I bought my set back in '88. I take my fishing seriously and am proud to say I own a set of Jack Traps. L.L.Bean has the hunting boots, Tim Jackson has Jack Traps.

Your product is not only a delight to use but a fine piece of "American Craftmanship" from Maine. No detail on your tip-up from flag to spool wasn't well thought out and well put together. Your tip-ups will last a lifetime of memories. Thanks again and let's enjoy another season on the ice with Jack Traps.

Respectfully,
Al Strandberg.

Sending you a few pictures from the finger lakes region of New York State. We have caught many lake trout, brown trout and rainbows this winter. Some of the fish were caught in 80 feet is water. The traps worked great! You need a smooth working trap to fool these fish. The Jack Traps are death on the deep water trout.

The boy in the photo's is my
son Luke Smith. One of the picture's has both my son and brother in-law (Luke's Uncle) Bob Pelletier. What interesting is that Bob is from Florida and could not wait to fly up to N.Y. to do some ice fishing. Most northerners can't believe that someone would leave the warmth of Florida to sit on the ice and fish. Bob was on his cell phone out on the ice talking to his wife who was planning on spending the day on the beach. By the way, Luke caught the big brown trout. We caught a 7 pound brown the week before but those pictures are on traditional film.

My buddy Chris got me into ice fishing 6 or 7 years ago. The first couple of years, I used all his equipment as he taught me the fine art of standing on a solid block of frozen ice, drilling holes, catching some fish, and trying to stay warm.

For entertainment we developed this little competition, once we each had 5 holes drilled and tip-ups were in the water the bet was on: 1 dollar for the first fish caught, 1 dollar for each fish pulled from 1 of your own 5 holes, and 1 dollar for the biggest fish catch of the day. For years, it seemed that at the end of every outing, I was pulling out my wallet and paying up!

I was desperate, so half way through the last ice fishing season, I turned to the Internet and found your website. I ordered the Big Bob Jack Trap, which was total overkill for fishing the Finger Lakes in upstate New York (no reason for a 43" tip up). I didn't care, I needed an edge and we were having an exceptionally cold winter with over 2 feet of ice below us.

I received the Big Bob Jack Trap in a matter of days. What a Product!!! As my buddy was struggling with tangled lines and frozen gear, I was enjoying the extremely smooth action of the quality Jack Trap home made real. The walleye and bass of Honeoye Lake didn't even know they were hooked.

Not only was my buddy paying up every weekend (which paid for the Jack Trap) he was bringing my coffee to me out on the ice! I have attached a picture of me with a 6.5-pound monster largemouth and another of Big Bob Jack Trap's work.

For all of you anglers who have been coming up short, losing fishing derbies, and paying off your buddies, all I have this to say is:

JACK TRAPS... HOW CAN YOU NOT...
THEY PAY FOR THEMSELVES!!!

I have sold and used Jack Traps since 1980. There is no comparison. They are the best traps available.

Jack Traps are the best Ice Fishing Traps on the market. We have been selling them for 12 years and have had no returns. Many customers come in and ask for Jack Traps.

--Scott Bennett, Sporting Goods manager at the Indian Trading Post in Greenville Maine. Home of Moosehead Lake.

I've been using all sizes of Jack Traps since 1980. The Big Bob is my favorite.

--John Farrell, Master Maine Guide.

Jack Traps are the highest quality ice fishing traps we sell. Many customers ask for them by name. With six sizes, there is something for everybody.

--Chris Hanson, Buyer and Manager at Kittery Trading Post in Kittery, Maine.

Simply put, Jack Traps are the best traps out there. They have the best finish so there are no freeze-ups.

--Dave Hanson, Owner and Manager of Old Town Trading Post.

At Lakeside we sell many different models of traps. Quality was hard to find. We thought about building our own, then we found out about the Big Bob. It fits the bill in every way, shape, and form. Thank-you!

--Scott Cudworth, Owner of Lakeside Sport And Marine

As an ice fisherman, I am always looking for the highest quality goods. Jack Traps are the highest quality there is. I have never had any problems with these traps, and they last forever. There are several choices- a trap for every kind of fish. Thanks Jack Traps.
